Panthers News · PLAY-INS

By Ashley Scott

The varsity football team took on Creekside this weekend vying for a spot in the playoffs. After suffering crushing defeat from the Stephenson Jaguars last week, losing 55 to 0, the Panthers were looking towards rebounding with a victory. They were hoping to prove that their play doesn’t reflect their record, and make the region playoffs. The team went into the game with strong, positive attitudes and ready to play hard. But sadly for them, Creekside shared the same mentality.

The Seminoles put up 41 points against the Panthers and held Southwest DeKalb to a mere 7 points. It was a heart breaking defeat to cap off a season that the team never imagined they would have. This season ended with a similar result as last year’s; the Panthers would finish their season off as 4-6, with no playoff appearance. Seniors hang their heads, as their last season went so poorly. But juniors & underclassmen look forward to the future & next season, with hopes of a turnaround and hopefully a successful season.article-support
